«The Elena Obraztsova Foundation» Award Ceremony
For young vocalists and honorary workers of the opera art

 

On June 2nd, at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel, The Charitable Foundation of Support for the Music Art «The Elena Obraztsova Foundation» will present young vocalists and honorary workers of the opera art with the Prizes and Awards.

The Charitable Foundation of Support for the Music Art «The Elena Obraztsova Foundation» was founded in December, 2011, on initiative of the great opera singer, People’s Artist of the USSR Elena Obraztsova.

The Foundation’s activity includes cultural and educational projects aimed to preservation of the cultural heritage and development of traditions of national musical culture and education as well as to international humanitarian collaboration.

 

Annual «The Elena Obraztsova Foundation» Awards were instituted in 2012: «The Hope» Prize has been awarded to the young vocalists, while «For the Bright Start in Art» Prize — to the young singers who have already performed at the opera stages.

The 1st Award Ceremony was held in April 2013 at The Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts; the recipients of the Prize «For the Bright Start in Art» were Prize-Winners at the international competitions Evdokia Malevskaya, Anna El-Hashem, Elnara Karakhanova, Oxana Zubko, soloist of the Wiener Staatsoper Alexei Sayapin and soloist of the Stanislavski and Nemirovich-Danchenko Moscow Academic Music Theatre Elena Guseva.

The 2nd Award Ceremony took place in May 2014 at the concert hall of the Ritz-Carlton Hotel. Prize-Winners at the international competitions Yuri Yushkevich, Lidia Fridman and Elmira Karakhanova became the recipients of «The Hope» Prize. Soloist of the Helikon Opera Theatre Igor Morozov, soloist of the Mariinsky Theatre Yuri Vlasov and soloist of the Bolshoi Theatre Andrei Zhilikhovsky were awarded the Prize «For the Bright Start in Art».

 

Prizes «For long-term service to the vocal art» have been awarded to the honorary workers of the opera art, of whom the Russian culture is proud, and also to the vocal teachers, who have devoted their creative life to the opera artists training. The 1st Award Ceremony was arranged in December 2012 at the Pashkov House, in the framework of the presentation of The Elena Obraztsova Foundation. The Prize Winners were soloists of the Bolshoi Theatre, People’s Artists of the USSR Tamara Sinyavskaya and Bela Rudenko, People’s Artists of Russia Larisa Avdeeva and Valentina Levko and Honoured Artist of Russia Glafira Koroleva.

The 2nd Award Ceremony was held in October 2013, at the Mikhailovsky Castle in St.Petersburg, when soloists of the Mariinsky Theatre, People’s Artist of the USSR Nikolai Okhotnikov, People’s Artist of Russia Eugenia Perlasova, Honoured Artist of Russia Tatiana Novikova, soloist of the Mikhailovsky Theatre Tatiana Domnikova and Honoured Artist of Russia Anatoly Vasiliev became the Prize Winners.

The Prize Winners of the 3rd Award Ceremony in December 2014 at the Chaliapin Memorial Estate were soloists of the Bolshoi Theatre: People’s Artist of the USSR Alexander Vedernikov, Honoured Artists of Russia Clara Kadinskaya and Nina Novoselova, People’s Artists of Russia Yuri Grigoriev and Galina Pisarenko.


This year both Prizes of the Elena Obraztsova Foundation will be awarded in one day. Nominees of the 2016 Prize «For long-term service to the vocal art» include soloists of the Bolshoi Theatre, People’s Artists of the USSR Makvala Kasrashvili, who celebrates 50th anniversary of her creative activity, and Zurab Sotkilava; Artistic Director of the Moscow State Academic Chamber Choir, People’s Artist of the USSR Vladimir Minin and accompanist of the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory, Honoured Artist of the Russian Federation Natalia Golubeva.

Nominee for «The Hope» Prize is a Prize Winner at the international competitions Timur Slanov.

Nominees for the Prize «For the Bright Start in Art» are Prize Winners at the international competitions, soloist of the Bolshoi Theatre Ekaterina Morozova and soloist of the Kolobov Novaya Opera Theatre of Moscow Yulia Mennibaeva.

People’s Artists of the USSR Alexander Vedernikov and Tamara Sinyavskaya; People’s Artists of Russia Valentin Gaft, Alla Demidova, Galina Pisarenko and Hibla Gerzmava; Merited Art Workers of Russia —  rector of the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory Alexander Sokolov and head of the Bolshoi Theatre Youth Opera Program Dmitri Vdovin are invited to present these prizes.


Besides, in 2016 the council of the Elena Obraztsova Foundation has decided to found the Friends Club of the Elena Obraztsova Foundation. During the Ceremony, diplomas and honorary members cards of the Elena Obraztsova Foundation Friends Club will be presented.

The Award Ceremony will be accompanied by the concert of renowned musicians and young performers, Prize Winners of the Elena Obraztsova Foundation.

Audience of the project includes representatives of the political, cultural and business elite.
